I can’t make any sense about the can dance aspect of this story. When I read a story, I tend to read the plot. I cannot find the deep meaning that goes along with many works of literature, and all God’s children is no exception. This story’s plot was very odd, as it involved a man who has an interesting sexual relationship with his mother, who is convinced that he is the son of God. The only thing that I can relate to the title is the part when Yoshia was dancing and thought about people that might be judging him, only to think to himself that all God’s children can dance. If I had to make sense of this, I would say that Yoshia is thinking that people should not judge him because he is only doing something that all God’s children can do. If all people can do it than why is it weird? He’s only dancing, he’s not murdering a person.
Uh....Um...I can’t really think of anything else to write about this story, or how the title relates to the story. To be honest, I am still struggling to figure out what this story has to do with earthquakes besides the actual earthquake that occurs in the plot. This is why I am not good at english. My lack of understanding any themes in literature also contributes to my work issues. It’s not that I am lazy, although that is a factor, it’s that I do not know what I am supposed to write about. And then I wait too long, and I do not like asking for help, and then the deadline comes and passes and I do not have anything completed. That’s why I like these reflections. I can just go on and on about my confusions, and my thoughts about stuff. But that’s not the point of this exact blog post. This is something that is required and I have gone off on a completely unrelated topic which I shall now cease to talk about.
Ah. That’s better. Where were we? Ahh yes. Now I remember. What was the deal with his mother. She was a whack job. Is that how things are in Japan, or is that just his family that has those issues. I know that Japan is weird, but that is on a whole new level. This story should be called the insestuious relationship of the only redneck couple in Japan. That would at least make sense. Naming a story, “All God’s children can dance”, only to have almost nothing about dancing in the story is a bad thing. The person who wrote the story should but a disclaimer right before the actual story begins to stop a 6 year old from reading a book that sounds like it was meant for children. At Least put that book in the adult only section. I was really confused about the story. And what the hell did the story have to do with an earthquake. The ground never shook, and nobody fell into a hole that opened up in the middle of the road. The book didn't even mention Godzilla, who causes 90% of all japanese earthquakes each year. That would have been a hell of a lot more interesting than reading about a mother who has a sexual relationship with her son whom she claims is the Japanese Jesus. After some thought I am coming to the conclusion that this story was written by a man who was very high on quaaludes and then injected himself with heroin. This is a very disgusted Trice Crawford signing off.
